Employability Fund
The Employability Fund supports young people towards employment through a number of local training programmes.
Overview
Delivered in partnership
SDS administers and manages the Employability Fund on behalf of the Scottish Government. It supports the Youth Employment Strategy by delivering over 9,000 new opportunities across Scotland.
SDS do this by working with local employability partners, to maximise the resources that are available in their area and avoid duplicating existing employability services. Local training providers work with employers to understand their skills needs and help them find and train the right individuals.
Responding to local needs
With a strong focus on work experience, the Employability Fund responds to the different needs of each individual, while also adapting to employer demands on a local basis.
The Fund can be used to support people to develop the employability and vocational skills they need to make the transition into a Modern Apprenticeship or job.
